Delete your account
Last updated 31 August 2026
From inside the app
Open BrewTrax, go to Profile → Account → Delete account, and confirm. Access is disabled immediately, while the account and everything in it are retained for 30 days. BrewTrax emails a secure recovery link that can cancel the request before the deadline.
If you no longer have the app
Email [email protected] from the address on the account with the subject Delete my account. We verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting, so please write from the address you signed up with. If you signed in with Google or Apple, use that same address.
We verify the request, schedule the same 30-day recovery window, and confirm the deadline by reply.
What gets deleted
Deleting the account removes all of it. There is no partial option:
- Your account record — email, display name, handle and profile photo.
- Every bean on your shelf, including bag photos.
- Every brew session: doses, timings, tasting scores and notes.
- Your gear, and every recipe you saved or wrote.
- Sign-in credentials and any device registered for notifications.
What does not get deleted
- Recipes you published to Commons stay visible to other brewers, because people may have saved them into their own books. They are detached from your name. If you want them gone as well, unpublish them before you delete the account.
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google. Those live in the store, not with us — deleting a BrewTrax account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your device's subscription settings, or you will keep being billed.
- Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule and are overwritten within 30 days. They are never used to restore a deleted account.
Cancel your subscription first
This catches people out, so it is worth repeating: deleting your account does not end a paid subscription. On Android, cancel in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. On iOS, in Settings under your name → Subscriptions. Do that before deleting, while you can still see which plan you are on.
Export before you go
After the 30-day recovery window, deletion is permanent and we cannot bring a ledger back. If you want to keep your record, open Profile → Privacy & data and export the journal as CSV or JSON first. The file is yours; it downloads to your device and never passes through us.
